All organic makeup is natural makeup. However, all natural makeup is not always organic.
It is a conundrum that is hard for some people to understand.
If you want to know the difference between natural makeup and organic makeup, keep reading.
What is Natural Makeup?
These chemicals can become absorbed into your skin, and your body can not easily get rid of them. Thus, your body has an increase in your toxin levels. This can cause damage to your organs and cells.
When you buy natural makeup, it is important to read the ingredients. A company can actually label a product natural if just one of the ingredients is natural.
The other ingredients may be derivatives of minerals. These are called non-synthetic ingredients. They come from minerals, but they have not undergone a synthetic process.
What is Organic Makeup?
Organic makeup is a natural makeup made from natural organic sources. For something to be considered organic, it cannot be derived from anything that was grown using petroleum fertilizers, synthetic pesticides, and sewage sludge fertilizers.
The ingredients cannot be derived from an organism that was genetically modified.
When you buy organic makeup, look for the USDA Organic Seal. A product can only get this seal if it is made from 95% and above organic products.
If it is made with only 70% organic products, the label will say, “Made with Organic Ingredients.” These products may have 70% or above organic ingredients, but they may also contain harmful synthetic ingredients.
True organic beauty products are rich in essential oils, vitamins, plant extracts, and minerals. They are the best option for makeup. There are no harmful chemicals or preservatives. Plus, they are not tested on animals.
What Works For You?
Never be misled by a beauty product saying that it is organic or natural. Always read the list of ingredients. If you do not know what an ingredient is, Google it.
Appearance wise, most organic and natural makeup look the same. That is why it is not a cosmetic difference. There is, however, a chemical difference.
Just because makeup is organic or natural does not mean that it is right for you. You can have an allergic reaction to natural materials. So this means you must know what you are allergic to. You can go to your local doctor and take an allergy test.
If you do not have any known allergies, make note of how your skin reacts to your makeup. It may be the combination of the ingredients that creates a negative reaction with your skin.
However, most 100% natural or organic beauty products are healthy for your skin. If you are having skin trouble, organic or mineral makeup can aid in healing your skin.
Natural and organic are both good choices for makeup. However, each beauty product you try needs to be investigated. Make sure all the ingredients are considered natural or organic. And finally, never settle for one natural or organic ingredient mixed with harmful synthetic ingredients.
