How to Make Natural Wrinkle & Skin Remedies With Olive Oil

natural wrinkles remedies Towards the end of your 20s into your early 30s, you might start to see some more “lines” around your face and you may start to think about some natural wrinkle remedies you can try.  I’m talking about those laughter lines of course, as well as the other fine lines you get on the other parts of your face like around your eyes.  I know, they totally stink.  And of course there are always the blemishes like pimples, blackheads, and zits that drive us crazy!  We want nice skin, why does it have to be so hard sometimes?

Commercial options can get expensive after buying them month after month. And many of the commercial products you buy claim that you need to get rid of the oil completely from your face to avoid any imperfections like blackheads and pimples.  Oftentimes you will bring your skin to a worse condition by constantly “cutting out the grease”.

Mainstream skin care products will actually strip out the vital oil from the skin, leaving the largest organ in the body to repair itself by frantically trying to replace that oil.  If you have ever experienced this before, you know what I mean.  The product leaves your skin tight and dry, then soon enough your face is very oily all over again!  This is because the skin will over-compensate for the lack of any moisture and really turn on the oil machine!

Also the fragrance of many of these products irritates alot of people’s skin.  And be careful of those products that claim to be ‘unscented’ because they usually actually do contain some sort of fragrance.  Check those labels!

So even if you have oily skin, don’t be afraid to actually apply oil right to your skin!  It sounds counterintuitive but your skin needs oil.  Oil by itself will not give you pimples and zits.  And by using natural oil, it will also help to lubricate, heal and protect your skin as well as moisturize.

There are many types of natural skin care remedies available, and one’s in particular that are prepared using olive oil are very effective in helping to smooth the wrinkles, revitalize the skin, and  get rid of blemishes.

Natural Wrinkle Remedies

You can always make some great anti-wrinkle and anti-blemish remedies at home if you want to.  It’s fun, safe, and can really help bring some youth back to your skin.  Some of the things you will need for just one quick and simple recipe include lemon juice (or vinegar), olive oil, and plain (very plain!) yogurt.  Other items you’ll need are a plastic container (or glass is even better), a soft cloth, cool water, a bowl and a spoon.

First, start by mixing up the yogurt with the lemon juice as well as the olive oil.  Use about ¼ cup of each ingredient.  In a bowl, mix all the ingredients until you get a nice thick and even mixture. And make sure the yogurt that you use does not have any flavoring at all, as well as any additives.  Greek yogurt is good for this.  If you don’t want to use lemon juice, you can use vinegar instead but make sure it is apple cider vinegar.

Before you apply the mixture, first rinse your face with some cool water.  Then put a thick layer of the mix on your face and keep it on for about fifteen minutes or so. When you are done just rinse your face again with cool water and use a dry towel to pat yourself dry.

You can use this stuff before bed, and do it almost every night if you want.  I love this remedy because yogurt and olive oil just seem to work so well together on my skin.  They really bring some great natural nutrients to my skin.  The lemon juice will help with any uneven tones of the skin…it will help to lighten them up a bit.  The vinegar will do this too.  You also get some exfoliation as well from the acid that is in the vinegar and lemon juice.

And after you make it and use it, whatever is left-over you can keep for another night.  Just keep it in an airtight container.  It should be good for about a week or so.

One more quick recipe uses just oil…well, two types of oils.  This may sound scary to you if you already have oily skin, but it works!  This recipe uses castor oil and olive oil.

Castor oil is great for healing and cleansing and is the focus of this recipe.  By using this wonderful oil, it will (believe it or not) leave you will dry and healthy skin.  But castor oil is very thick, so we’ll dilute it a bit with olive oil.  You can also use sunflower seed oil if you wish.

There are different combinations you can try depending on your skin type.  Now these are just guides, so when you first try it don’t make a huge amount.  You can slowly adjust over time how much of each oil to use as you see how your skin reacts.

For oily skin use a little more olive oil than castor oil.  Start off with 6 large tablespoons of olive oil to 4 for castor oil. For balanced skin use more olive oil facial olive oil, around 7 tablespoons to 3 for castor oil.  And for dry skin use even more olive oil and go for about 9 tablespoons of olive oil and 1 castor oil.

Like I said you can adjust based on your skin’s needs.  The drier your skin is, the less castor oil you should use.

Before you start using the oil, put a clean washcloth in some very hot water to soak.

After you combine the oils in the desired amounts, just rub some in your hands to warm it up. Just a small handful will be just fine.  Start off with a little and you can always keep adding.

Once it’s nice and warm, start to massage into your face.  Move your hands and fingers firmly and slowly.  Massage it well, so that it seeps into your pores.  Take your time with this.

When you’re done, grab the washcloth that’s been soaking.  Make sure it’s not too hot, but warm enough so that it opens up your pores nicely and removes the oil.  Now don’t just wipe your face!  Hold it on your face and cover your face, and leave it there until it cools.  Only then should you start wiping the excess oil.  Don’t scrub!  Rinse the washcloth in the some hot water again and hold against your face once more.  Repeat this a few times until all of the oil has been wiped.  Remember, don’t scrub.

Do this at night before you go to bed, and you’ll find your skin supple, refreshed, and smooth in the morning!   Those were 2 fantastic natural wrinkle remedies you can try using olive oil…enjoy!

  1. Whether you purchase olive oil skin products or mix up your own olive oil skin care recipes, your skin will benefit. Always look for extra virgin olive oil or organic extra virgin olive oil in olive oil skin care products or when formulating your own olive oil skincare recipes. Pure or light olive oil is likely chemically processed and would be lacking the beneficial skin care elements.
